OH, Forks!™ Failures

OH, Forks!™ Failures

I am always asked, “Jen,” (that’s my name if you still didn’t know) “how do you make all of this so perfectly?!” And I laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. Possibly even while holding my gut with my head tipped back cackling at the sky.

Truth be told, I screw up recipes and things ALL the time! Especially when it’s something new or something freshly crafted in my brain. And because I cannot taste and eat all of the things I make due to my gastrointestinal and autoimmune issues anymore, sometimes it can be a risk in itself to be my taste testers, too!

So, I’ve decided to start an on-going blog post where I will highlight my catastrophes and the hilarity that I can pull of in my kitchens on any given day. Maybe they’ll give you a giggle and help you to know that practice, even after almost twelve years of gluten free cooking, classes, and a lifetime of regular chef’ing can still bring some pretty funny moments and disasters in the kitchen. I’ll probably post them on my platforms, too, but they’ll be permanently placed here as well!

Let’s not waste any more time! Check these out!

In this attempt working with a new giant cupcake cake making pan, the pan won. Clearly some pans are not meant to be flipped over at any time. Ever.
Attempting a new grain free fancy crust for some tortes. This was the fifth attempt that day, and last until a night of sleep. My plan was to re-attempt the next day, but I was still too angry with this one to try. We are not friends, this torte recipe and I.

ANOTHER Giant Cupcake Explosion! This time it wasn’t the pan at all– it was entirely me! Trying to make an outrageous filling that proved to be a bit too heavy for the chilling stage. At least this one didn’t end up on the floor! The kid’s enjoyed devouring this disaster!

Check back often for more awesome disasters made by yours truly! And have a lovely day!
