I’m not sure if everyone’s 2022 was like ours, but if so, I’m sorry! Life decided to keep throwing things in our direction that none of us ever saw coming and had to deal with head on. The medical chaos continued, louder than ever, hindering many plans and goals. That said, it was still a wonderful year with lots of good memories made- even breaking some of my older #OHFORKS records and order totals.
A few highlights from the year:
*Competed in the Greatest Baker 2022 challenge again. This time making it to round 7. Life stepped in half-way through this competition (I had an accident at home at broke my foot, soon after being stung by dozens of wasps in a swarm sting in my own backyard garden) and I completely forgot to finish it to the end. I appreciate those who voted and helped to propel me as far as I made it!
*Huge increase in special orders & reservations. This was a very pleasant surprise and extremely helpful in helping me to fund my very large medical bills and prescription costs, and general life’s cost. Reminder that I take reservations year-round for specific dates, as I tend to be steadily booked at least two weeks out.
*Lots of new items, flavors, and adding SUGAR FREE to the roster. I’ve had so many requests over the years to add in sugar free items and I FINALLY took the plunge! (You can thank my own faltering health for the sudden leap!) Not all items can be made sugar free, but my list is growing- pretty quickly! I am regularly using raw monk fruit sweetener for this, or can customize with other “sweeteners” for people’s specific needs.
*Wholesale Partnerships. I continued working with some partners on making buns, breads, and extras for their food trucks, events, and specialized things. I prefer the behind the scenes sort of partnerships that allow me to be elusive. For these partnerships, I utilize my partner’s certified kitchens to ensure all food laws and regulations are followed.
*Shipping & Updated HEA #1309 Home Based Vendor Laws. As you may have seen in previous posts, Indiana recently updated their HBV vendor laws. Many things remained the same- labels being required, cannot make certain foods AT ALL, cannot ship outside of the state of Indiana, must complete Some of the changes are:
-Labeling. You should now see “NOT FOR RESALE” on our labeling, along with the notice that “this area has not been inspected…..” It’s a requirement.
-Shipping. I am now legally allowed to ship within the state of Indiana. If you’re interested in this, please contact the page before ordering.
-Events/Locations. I can now legally host my own in-yard/driveway pop-up “market,” and take full use of online options for ordering.
-Serv-Safe Certified. Home-based vendors must be ServSafe Certified. I have been certified since the start of #OHFORKS and will continue to be certified as long as it exists. I am also a HIPAA Security Officer AND I am an Ordained Minister. Just in case you needed those tidbits of information.
Plans for 2023
As of now, things will continue to roll along as they have these past few years. I will accept special orders, year round, on a first come, first serve basis. I will continue to take reserved dates through the year. Pick up orders will remain the “main focus,” while certain delivery options for local folks may be available.
Thank you to those who continue to support and order from #OHFORKS!
