In March of 2021, after facing months of heartache and life chaos, I stumbled across a competition for bakers and decorators through the Greatest Baker. While hesitant at first, as I never ever join these types of things due to lack of confidence and time, I decided to give it a go. I didn’t tell anyone that I joined, other than my children- who spent weeks encouraging me and voting.
The Greatest Baker competition boasts a $20k prize, with a year’s worth of Stuffed Marshmallows (lmao) and a feature in a magazine. There are also options to have paid votes with the money collected from these votes going to No Kid Hungry- a very worthy cause.
You can imagine my shock when I made it into the first round! I then promised them that I would share it on the #OHFORKS pages and on my social media accounts. I did and found that others thought I was worth voting for, too! Just the boost my tired mental state needed! As of today, Saturday May 29th, I am STILL IN THE COMPETITION- making it through three rounds so far!
The next round passes on only the TOP FIVE winners, so I’m going to need a LOT of votes this week! That said, even falling out in this round is still a great feeling, because I’ve made it farther than I thought I would!
