OH, Forks!™ Gluten Free Candy Lists and Info

OH, Forks!™ Gluten Free Candy Lists
~

When I first began the gluten avoiding journey, I was desperate to figure out which sweet things I could still have. Thankfully, most of my personal favorites were already free of the dreaded gluten! This is list number one of many more upcoming candy lists! These are some of the top brands of candy that are sold in groceries worldwide. Please be aware that this information was pulled from each company’s web site, and although they may state the product is gluten free—it never hurts to double check the label anyways. Cross-contamination can be a huge factor if you suffer from an allergy to gluten.

There’s just nothing much worse than being in dire need of chocolate, or candy, and being unsure of which is safe for you to fill your desire and need. Below, you’ll find lists from major candy making brands that you can follow in your gluten free adventures!!

Mars Chocolate.

Mars Chocolate is responsible for numerous brands such as Mars, Dove, Snickers, M&M’s and more. They urge all consumers staying away from gluten to read labels, especially around the holidays of major candy sales and production. While their website does provide some of these lists, customer service has provided other parts of the lists. Many have also complained that Mars Chocolates are not being forthright with which of their products are truly safe. So, take the mixed messages, and labels…and do what you need to do to make sure your diet won’t be hurt by ingredients or cross contamination!

 Smarties.

Smarties products are all considered gluten free and vegan in the United States. However, there is much question as to who re-bags, and re-packages the Smarties products. The company has released the specific code that consumers can watch for to ensure that he Smarties product they may be eating is in deed packaged in a gluten free facility. The company’s website states, “If the UPC number on the packaging begins with ‘0 11206,’ you can be assured that the product was packaged in one of our manufacturing facilities,” which means it should be gluten-free.” You can visit www.smarties.com to find the up to date information you’re seeking!

Jelly Belly.

Jelly Belly jelly beans are all gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and free of most known allergens. They come in a multitude of colors and flavors, which is nice for those limited on what candies they can have. To find out more information on Jelly Belly jelly beans, simply call their customer service line at 800-522-3267.

Tic Tacs.
