I decided at the start of this year that we would take an adventure through the States and make all of their “famous” pies gluten free and/or vegan. I figured the ones that were good would get put into our online bakery for ordering, and those that were “hot” pies or on the “not allowed” list being an HBV (following HEA #1309, because, LAW…) would be listed in our Radical Recipes on the site. If the pies were terrible… well, they are noted as such.
Below you’ll find the list of pies & the States they are from. We are not going in any specific order, nor are we in any hurry to get to the end. Just leisurely strolling through the states, trying their goods and recipes.

- Alaska- Baked Alaska– This was delicious! An “ice cream” pie essentially, with toasted marshmallow on top!
- Arizona- Sunshine Lemon Pie

- Connecticut- Pumpkin Pie– Our OH, Forks!™ Pumpkin Pie never lets us down! And its always gluten free and vegan!
- Delaware- Peach Pie– Delicious! With fresh peaches, the natural sugars barely needed any extra sweetener!
- Florida- Key Lime Pie
- Georgia- Peach Pie
- Hawaii- Chocolate Haupia Pie
- Idaho- Huckleberry Pie
- Illinois- Pumpkin Pie and Grasshopper Pie
- Indiana- Sugar Cream– I am not entirely sure why I have not made this before this year, but it was so good! Perfecting the vegan version is taking a bit of time, as using solely coconut was overpowering as ever. A work in progress…
- Iowa- Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
- Kansas- Apple Pie
- Kentucky- Kentucky Derby Pie– I had never had Derby Pie until I made it, and it was quite delicious! Chocolate and nuts are never really a bad combination though, right? You can order this in the online bakery!
- Louisiana- Natchitoches Meat Pie
- Maine- Blueberry Pie
- Maryland- Baltimore Bomb Pie– This rich, decadent cookie pie is now one of our staples! And it is available to order in the online bakery!

- Minnesota- Honeycrisp Apple
- Mississippi- Mississippi Mud Pie
- Missouri- Pawpaw Cream Pie

- New Mexico- Frito Pie– Delicious! And reasonably quick for a dinner! The ease to make it entirely vegan is simple, too! Recipe can be found in our Radical Recipe section!
- New York- Concord Grape Pie
- North Carolina- Sweet Potato Pie
- North Dakota- Chokecherry Pie
- Ohio- Buckeye Pie
- Oklahoma- Pecan Pie– Our OH, Forks! Losing My Mind Tarts are the perfect mini version of this pie! Try them from our online bakery today!
- Oregon- Marionberry Pie
- Pennsylvania- Shoofly Pie– This pie was wrong on so many levels that I am not even sure where to begin. You need a very large love for molasses to fully enjoy this pie. We do not have that love. Recipe coming soon.
- Rhode Island- Custard Pie– If you like custard, this pie is simple, uses few ingredients and sets very well. We are not huge fans of custard, as it is an egg base and does taste slightly egg-y. Recipe coming soon.
