Buttermints were something I’d always had as a child as a treat from an elderly next door neighbor. Mr. Double would always share these mints, a few at a time, along with a few jokes, smiles, and stories along the way. Making a gluten free version for my own kiddos seemed logical, and was successful over the holidays a few years ago!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup
    ghee or butter, softened
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    salt
  • 3 1/4 + 1/4 Cups
    confectioners sugar
  • 1/3 Cup
    Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/4 - 1/2 Teaspoon
    Peppermint Extract
  • gluten free food coloring

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into the mixing bowl, and mix until combined. Roll and pinch small pieces of the buttermint candy into bite sized pieces, placing them on the parchment paper. Slide them into the refrigerator for half an hour to chill. Store in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator for weeks!
