OH, Forks!™ March 2017 Updates
What a year 2017 has been so far! No complaints from me, as being busy is a sure sign that business is moving in the right direction, and growing as it should be. The website (www.ohforks.com) has been populated with lots of FREE recipes and food ideas, with more to come. In February, we had a sampling and book signing event at the Bookmark in Fort Wayne, and could share our message of healthy, allergen compatible eating with new friends and businesses alike. We were interviewed while we were there, and could give lots of details about gluten and living a gluten free lifestyle.
March 2017 is upon us, and we’re well on our way to stepping in to Allen County farmer’s markets! As it stands now, it looks like we’ll be in Northern Allen County, Southern, AND Huntington County for the Summer and Fall seasons! We’ve got a few things going on, and we wanted to update where we would be, and when. After we get our set confirmations and placement in the markets, we’ll release the where’s, when’s, and details on everything! We’re busily working on making our baked good list and determining which of our awesome GF and Paleo items would be best sellers!
In April, we’ll be attending the Gypsy Soul Vintage Market and proceeds from our sales will be going towards our charity, Justice for Nancy. This is a charity that I began in 2014 after the brutal attack and home invasion of my Grandmother Nancy Beverly in Fort Wayne, IN. To raise the $5,000 needed to fund 20,000 meals for starving children around the world, we have an auction currently in place, bake sales planned, garage sales happening in the Spring, and that all culminates in June when we pack all 20,000 meals to ship to where they are needed most! We are so grateful to have numerous Fort Wayne businesses, business owners, and friends donate to our auction to help us raise these funds! We know that Nancy would be incredibly proud of our efforts, and thrilled of the hundreds of people she is still helping.
After our food pack on June 17th, we are planning a Legacy Luncheon that will take place for those interested in celebrating our 2017 cause, celebrating Nancy’s giving heart and life, and sharing some excellent food with friends! We at OH, Forks! And one of our friends who is an excellent caterer will be sponsoring the lunch for all to enjoy!! Thank you, again Lisa, for your help on this aspect of the fundraiser!!
In October, we’ll be at the Great Lakes Book Bash where we’re helping to fill hundreds of VIP bags with our #OHFORKS goodies in some sort of fashion. We’re debuting our new marketing materials, recipe cards, calendar magnets, and more. GLBB is happening in Kalamazoo on October 27th and 28th, and is a ticketed event only.
