Wow, what a year this was! Our first major market season, tons of events, opening new online store fronts, charity events, and making big plans & taking actions ALL happened this year. I had no real idea just how much work market season would be, or the wonderful customer base and friendships I would develop in just a year! I underestimated just how busy #OHFORKS would be through the summer season, and even more when it came to holiday orders. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this amazing, growing business!

As 2018 looms on the horizon, I’m already making plans for year-round markets, events, and new recipes! Not to mention TWO new cookbooks in process, one of which I am truly excited to share. OH, Forks!™ Soups, Stews & Broths is one that many of my chronically ill friends, and fellow Gastroparesis warriors, will be able to enjoy! Of course, anyone who loves a good stew will dig it, too!

 

I get a lot of questions about how I manage to do all of this by myself, and truth is, I have no idea. I do a lot of planning, prepping, and ensure that my bake-days are solely for that: baking & making. Because my goods are made within 24 hours of events or pickups, this means my personal schedule becomes very limited around these times. We get a few questions often, so I thought I would touch on those below. As always, thanks for visiting, supporting and being fabulous customers!

OH, Forks!™ FAQ & Questions

What can I expect from OH, Forks! in the upcoming year? More markets in more cities, new market items and flavors, more low-carb options, more #DryGoods products, and more #Orderables up in the online storefront. Plus, we’ll be adding some videos and more FREE Radical Recipes on the web site. We’re working on expanding our “shipping” zones, and what all we can ship, too.

Will OH, Forks!™ ever be a stationary bakery? At this point, no! I am not one to be kept in a singular place, and I’ve watched numerous friends open bakeries, and months later close due to poor planning, opening in a saturated market, and rushing through the very important steps of business. If we’re talking big goals, I would love to eventually have a food truck! This would allow my full menu and many options, AND I can travel to where I want to be! That’s for the future though.

What are the main brands OH, Forks!™ uses in their flours and mixes? We utilize our accounts with Bob’s Red Mill, Anthony’s and Gluten Free Harvest the most. Our premade Dry Goods mixes use Anthony’s brands, and our breads fluctuate between all three.

For substituting eggs, what do you use? Depends on the recipe, but most often the fabulous flaxseed mix, Bob’s Red Mill Replacer, or baking soda and vinegar!

Is everything you make gluten free? YES! Everything we offer is gluten free! We also have lots of dairy free, soy free, sugar free and egg free items that can be ordered, too! We can customize most all of our recipes to fit your allergen or dietary needs. We do not always have the super-specialty items (like a GF, DF, SF, egg free pumpkin pie) at market, but things like this can be ordered at any time via our online storefront.
